The American Airlines arena looked spectacular and ready for a wedding. The guests were getting seated and Brad and his groomsmen walked into the front where he and Ronnie were getting married. The minister was chatting with Brad and the other groomsmen.
Brad's mother was seated and then Ronnie's grandmother was seated next and that meant that it was almost time for Ronnie and her bridesmaids to walk down the aisle. Brad was getting slightly nervous and then when he heard the wedding march music his heart rate started going faster. It made him realize that he was doing something so amazing that he was super ready for this adventure in his life and he loved Ronnie more than anything else in the world.
The flower girl, ring bearer and bridesmaids started walking down the aisle and then at the end of the aisle Brad looked up to see Ronnie and her dad, Joe, start to walk towards him. He smiled as he looked at Ronnie and she looked like a princess.
Ronnie looked down the aisle at Brad and could not believe at how gorgeous he looked in a tuxedo. She smiled at him as he looked at her. Her heart was beating so fast because she was so excited about what was about to happen. She was going to be Mrs Brad Richards very soon.
Joe and Ronnie got up to Brad and Joe put Ronnie's hand into Brad's and said, "Take good care of my girl because she is very special".
"I promise to love her and cherish her forever" Brad said and Ronnie smiled and gave her dad a quick kiss on the cheek.
The minister looked at Brad and Ronnie and started the ceremony.
"Brad do you take Ronnie to be your lawful wedded wife?"
"I do" Brad said.
"Ronnie do you take Brad to be your lawful wedded husband?"
"I do" Ronnie said.
"Brad do you have the rings?"
Brad gave the rings to the minster and the minister blessed the rings and then Brad and Ronnie exchanged rings".
"Brad and Ronnie each have some wedding vows they wrote for each other so now they will say them to each other" the minster said and let Brad and Ronnie speak.
Brad started, "Ronnie, you are the most amazing woman I have ever met. You have helped me through so much and it means the world to me. I have loved you since the first day I saw you and that has been a long time. And now you are giving me another special gift by carrying my child and you will be an amazing mother too. I will love you forever and be your best friend, lover, and partner in crime for all of my life. I love you".
Ronnie was tearing up with all the special things Brad had just said and she took a breath and started her vows, "Brad, you are everything I have ever wanted in my best friend, husband and lover. You have been there for me during the great times and the tough times and I love you more than anything. I have loved you ever since I met you for the first time. I love you and know that you are going to be a great father to our unborn child. I love you".
"By the powers vested in me by the city of Dallas and state of Texas, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Brad you may now kiss Ronnie" the minister said and then Brad gently pulled Ronnie to him and kissed her deeply on the lips. Then all their family and friends started cheering the new couple.
Brad and Ronnie pulled apart and smiled at each other and then turned to look at everyone and walked down the aisle.
Brad and Ronnie walked over to a side space with the photographer to get a few pictures. Then the minister came over to them and they signed some official papers and then it was time to party at the reception.

The reception was lots of fun and everyone was having a great time. Brad and Ronnie were having lots of fun.
At one point while everyone was eating and having fun when Ronnie felt something weird and realized that her water broke.
"Oh my god, Brad, oh my god" Ronnie cried out.
"What sweetie, what's wrong?" Brad asked his new wife.
"My water broke and we are having a baby!" Ronnie exclaimed. Brad quickly helped Ronnie and told his parents and then everyone knew and helped the newlyweds to their car and to the hospital for the birth of their baby.

Several hours later Brad and Ronnie were the proud parents of a beautiful baby boy. They named him Lucas Andrew Richards and he was perfect with all his tiny toes and fingers.
"I can not believe I am a father" Brad said holding his new son and just beaming like the new father he was now.
"You are going to be an awesome father to Lucas and I love you so much Mr Richards" Ronnie said smiling at her new son and new husband.
"Ronnie, I love you more because you just gave me this miracle and you are going to be the best mother ever, Mrs Richards" Brad exclaimed and leaned down to kiss Ronnie again.
Brad's parents and Ronnie's dad came into the room. And everyone celebrated Brad and Ronnie's new baby. Ronnie was so happy and realized that everything was perfect in her life because she had Brad by her side, Lucas in her arms and the rest of her family to help her through all of life's twists and turns.

A few weeks later Ronnie was sitting in her and Brad's house in Tampa Bay holding Lucas. They were enjoying the summer in Tampa Bay and waiting to find out where Brad would be playing hockey next season.
Ronnie looked up to see Brad coming in the door and she smiled.
"Hey beautiful" Brad said coming over to sit down next to Ronnie and Lucas.
"Hey hot stuff" Ronnie said laughing and then Brad leaned in for a kiss.
Lucas started squirming in Ronnie's lap and Brad and Ronnie broke apart from the kiss.
Brad took Lucas from Ronnie and said, "You do not like it when daddy and mommy kiss well sorry pal if you want any more siblings, daddy is going to be kissing mommy a lot more". Ronnie giggled and Brad silenced her again with another mind blowing kiss and Ronnie knew Brad meant he loved her just as much as she love him.

Chapter 19
Ronnie and her friends were staying a very nice hotel near the arena. It was just easy to be close with the fact that she was pregnant and because she was the bride. They had fun up in the suite they had gotten for the night. They watched some chick flicks, played silly games and just had fun gossiping.
Meanwhile the guys were out at a local bar where the players were known. Brad's friends had rented the VIP area for the night. They were drinking and acting like they did when they won a game. They had lots of fun and enjoying the bachelor party. Brad was texting Ronnie and when Loui saw that he tried to get Brad's phone away from him.
"Dude, you are not supposed to be communicating with her on your last night as a single man" Loui said.
"I can do whatever I want. Ronnie is pregnant and I want to make sure she is ok after all the things she has been through so leave my phone alone" Brad insisted.
"Fine but you gotta have some more shots now" Loui said pulling Brad back over to the VIP bar and ordering some shots for Brad to chug down.
Back at the hotel, the girls had finally gone to bed and were all sleeping. They had decided on a semi early night so Ronnie could get plenty of beauty sleep for her big day.
Around 1am the guys had all headed back to their hotel to get some sleep for the wedding day. Brad was in his room finally climbing into the bed but before he went to sleep he sent Ronnie another quick text. He was not expecting an answer but when it beeped back instantly he smiled. Ronnie had just happened to hear her phone and text back, 'Gnite luv u'. That made Brad smile and he feel asleep quickly of course all the alcohol had helped too.
The next morning the guys were all cranky because they all had hangovers. But luckily the wedding was not until 2pm so they had time to recover. They were all at the hotel restaurant eating breakfast. None of them looked happy or ready for a wedding. Brad had just grabbed some random clothes for breakfast so he would not get arrested for public nudity at the restaurant. He looked a hot mess and his friends made sure he knew it.
"Wow Brad you look horrible" Brenden said as he drank some coffee.
"Yeah did you forget that you were getting married today. You look like shit man" Loui said as he ate.
"Thanks guys you are such great friends. Then again all those shots and drinks did not help this morning either" Brad replied as he got his coffee mug refilled.
"If I were Ronnie and I saw you this morning I would rethink about marrying you" Loui joked more.
"Well you two do not look much better than me so I am not sure how you two got your women either" Brad retorted back.
"Touche" Brenden said and raised his coffee mug in salute to Brad.
The girls were slowly waking up too. They had decided to order room service so they were looking over the menu and talking to the room service operator. Then they were just taking turns using the two bathrooms getting partially ready for the morning.
Ronnie decided to go and chill on the balcony of the suite after she had gotten somewhat ready. She took her phone and call Brad and see how his night had been.
His phone rang a couple of times and then she heard his familiar voice.
"Good morning sweetie"
"Morning how are you?"
"Tired and hungover" he said.
"Seriously? On our wedding day you are hungover" she said slightly surprised.
"Hey Mia was saying you needed to rock and roll so I did too" Brad joked even though his head hurt a little bit but he had taken something to help the headache.
"True she did say that. How bad do you feel?" Ronnie asked.
"Well not to bad because I ate something had some coffee and some Tylenol".
"Good to hear but I hope you feel 100 percent when I walk down the aisle to you later on" Ronnie said smiling.
"I will do not worry. Oh how is baby star doing?" Brad asked.
"Baby star is doing just fine and seems to be having his or her own party" Ronnie laughed which made Brad laugh too.
"Great to hear that our child is excited about today too".
"Yeah it feels funny with it bouncing around in my abdomen. Well it looks like our breakfast is here from what I can tell so I will see you at the arena at 2 o'clock to become Mrs Brad Richards" Ronnie said.
"Love you Ronnie" Brad said.
"Love you more Brad" Ronnie said and then they both hung up.
Ronnie headed back inside to enjoy breakfast with her friends and Brad headed to find his buddies and chill until it was time to officially get ready for the wedding.

Chapter 18
It was the night of the rehearsal dinner and they were all at a very nice Italian restaurant in downtown Dallas. Everyone was talking and joking and waiting on the soon to be newlyweds, who had not yet shown up.
"I hope that Ronnie and Brad are not late because they can not keep their hands off each other" Brenden Morrow joked and his wife Anne-Marie rolled her eyes and jokingly hit his arm. Brenden gave her a look and then gave up trying to a comedian.
"I am sure they are on their way. After all poor Ronnie has to deal with the fact that Brad knocked her up so she is two people now" Loui Eriksson joked and everyone laughed and then Brenden said, "How come everyone laughs at Loui's comment but not mine?".
"Morrow, I am just way cooler than you are" Loui joked and Brenden shook his head.
Sure enough a few minutes later Brad and Ronnie showed up. They walked into the party room and everyone let out a sigh of relief.
"Sorry guys that we are a little late but the baby was having its own party after all the wedding practice and I was trying to settle him or her down" Ronnie apologized as Brad just put his arm around Ronnie's shoulders and gave her a quick hug.
They sat down and then the party really got started. Everyone was eating and talking about the wedding.
Ronnie was enjoying the dinner and talking with friends and family was lots of fun. Everything was relaxing and happy and that is what Ronnie needed now. She was excited that tomorrow she would be Mrs Brad Richards. It made her think of all the things she had been through in her life and now everything was getting to a place that was perfect and happy. This was definitely want she wanted and made her super excited about the future which made her look down at her abdomen and felt the baby kick.
"Wow" Ronnie exclaimed and Brad was at her side instantly looking at her with concern.
"Are you ok?" he asked.
"The baby just kicked me and I just took it as a sign that tomorrow is going to be amazing" Ronnie said smiling which made Brad happy. He kissed her quickly and then went back to who he had been talking to.
Ronnie smiled and then her soon to be in laws came over to talk to her.
After the dinner Brad and Ronnie were standing in the parking lot with friends.
"Ok well you two love birds have to separate tonight" Loui said trying to pull Brad away from Ronnie. But Brad was still holding Ronnie close and then jokingly whined,
"I do not want to go. I want to stay with my girl".
"Yeah I do not want him to go" Ronnie joked back snuggling closer to Brad as possible with her baby bump.
"Ronnie, we gotta party on your last night as a single girl so unglue yourself from that hot guy you are stuck too" Mia joked even though her husband, Kris Letang, was holding her close.
"Hey now that sounds like fun. Peace Brad" Ronnie laughed and tried to get away from Brad who was not letting her go.
"Let me go Brad, I wanna party as a single girl!"
"I do not want you to be partying as a single girl because of all the guys who will try and get with you" Brad said seriously which made Ronnie laugh.
"Fine but we really do have to do this tradition since we kinda screwed many of the other ones around" Ronnie said putting a hand on her baby bump which then made Brad smirk and let Ronnie free.
"Yippy I am free ok Mia, let's go and rock and roll" Ronnie said skipping over to Mia who was finally detached from her husband too.
The love birds gave each other one last kiss and then went with their friends to enjoy their last night as singles.

Chapter 17

Ronnie finally had all the details of her dream wedding set. She and Brad were getting married at the American Airlines Center. Since Ronnie's dad was very influential they were able to rent it out for the wedding.

Chapter 16
Ronnie and Brad were all into planning the wedding. They were tasting cake samples and checking out photographers that would work the best for them.
Ronnie was dress shopping with her father and her best friend, Mia Crosby-Letang. Ronnie wanted her dress to be a surprise to Brad.
Ronnie walked out in a beautiful princess dress and both her father and Mia just gasped at how perfect the dress looked on her. Ronnie stepped in front of the mirrors and twirled around and then looked at her dad.
"Oh my word, sweetie you looked beautiful" Joe said walking over to his daughter.
"Really dad" Ronnie said surprised.
"Yes Ronnie, you look just like your mom when I married her" Joe exclaimed.
"Thanks dad" Ronnie said smiling at her dad. Then Mia got up and walked over and exclaimed, "Wow girl you look gorgeous and Brad is going to lose his mind when he sees you in this dress!"
"Mia, you are funny" Ronnie giggled which made Mia laugh too.
After all the laughing Ronnie realized this was her dress and her dad bought it and they had it altered to fit Ronnie perfectly.
As they all left the store, Joe had to head back to work and so the girls went to have lunch. They were seated and Ronnie looking at Mia, "So Mia, how is your hottie defenseman hubby doing?"
Mia blushed and giggled and then said, "Kris is fine and actually hanging out with Nathan doing father and son things".
"Awwww that is so cute they are doing that. I wonder what kind of dad, Brad will be when our kiddo is born?" Ronnie thought.
"Yeah I had the same thoughts about Kris when I had Nathan and Kris is the best dad ever and he is excited about number two also" Mia said patting her pregnant abdomen.
"Yeah its awesome we are both pregnant at the same time" Ronnie said.
The girls continued to talk about marriage and babies until they both had to get home.
Ronnie got back to her and Brad's place and could not believe the mess that Brad had made. She put down her stuff and got to work in cleaning the condo. She was cleaning when Brad walked in and saw Ronnie cleaning, "Stop Now!" Brad exclaimed and that surprised Ronnie who dropped the stack of magazines she was holding onto her toes.
"Owww, my toes" Ronnie shouted and sat down and rubbed her foot.
"Ronnie, I am so sorry and did not mean to scared you. Is your foot ok?" Brad asked and sat down next to Ronnie.
"Yeah its fine but I am mad at you!" Ronnie said sounding frustrated.
"Why what did I do?" Brad asked sounding confused.
"You left the place a mess and so I had to clean it up".
"Sorry Ronnie, I rushed out to see some of the guys for lunch and was going to try and get back before you did and clean up but obviously that did not happen. I am so so sorry baby. I will finish and you can rest and I will even make dinner so you do not have to tonight" Brad said and kissed Ronnie and she let Brad finish cleaning the condo and just relaxed the rest of the evening.
Just as Brad had promised he ordered out dinner and they talked about more wedding plans and possible honeymoon ideas. It was lots of fun for the two of them.
Ronnie was dress shopping with her father and her best friend, Mia Crosby-Letang. Ronnie wanted her dress to be a surprise to Brad.
Ronnie walked out in a beautiful princess dress and both her father and Mia just gasped at how perfect the dress looked on her. Ronnie stepped in front of the mirrors and twirled around and then looked at her dad.
"Oh my word, sweetie you looked beautiful" Joe said walking over to his daughter.
"Really dad" Ronnie said surprised.
"Yes Ronnie, you look just like your mom when I married her" Joe exclaimed.
"Thanks dad" Ronnie said smiling at her dad. Then Mia got up and walked over and exclaimed, "Wow girl you look gorgeous and Brad is going to lose his mind when he sees you in this dress!"
"Mia, you are funny" Ronnie giggled which made Mia laugh too.
After all the laughing Ronnie realized this was her dress and her dad bought it and they had it altered to fit Ronnie perfectly.

Chapter 15
A few months later the hockey season was close to the end and the Dallas Stars had to win this last game to make it into the playoffs. Brad was ready to give his all for this last game against Minnesota. Even though the game was away Ronnie was flying with the team thanks to her dad. She was sitting next to Brad by the window and totally into her book and Brad was playing cards with a few of his teammates. The game was getting intense which usually happened but there was lots of interesting language too. At one point the new Dallas Star player, Alex Goligoski, whom they had gotten in an earlier trade, said, "Hey guys language, we have a lady on board".
Ronnie looked up and saw Alex smiling and she shook her head, "Alex, its sweet of you to be concerned for my ears but I have heard everything in the book. I am totally ignoring your card game so keep acting like I am not even here".
Alex nodded and went back to the game with his teammates.
Ronnie after a while made Brad get up so she could go and stretch her legs and talk to her dad. He let her pass and just for fun lightly smacked her butt. Ronnie turned to give Brad a look and he just shrugged his shoulders and she laughed and walked over to her dad.
Joe was in a conversation with the stars coach and when Ronnie came into his view he stopped, "Hey darling are you ok?"
"Yes dad I am fine I just wanted to talk to you for a moment if that was possible" Ronnie said.
"Of course I will always have time for you, sweetie" Joe said excusing himself from the coach and they went to some empty seats closer to the front of the plane.
Once they were settled Joe looked at his daughter, "What did you want to talk about?"
"I just want to thank you for letting me coming along on this trip with the team. I know its not custom for last minute guests to join the trip but I am very thankful" Ronnie explained.
"Darling, you are not a random last minute guest you are my daughter and I knew you needed to get away from Dallas for a little while plus I had a feeling that Brad might feel better that you were in his sights after the Sean thing at the condo" Joe explained looking back at Brad who happen to be looking at Joe and Ronnie with concern. Ronnie looked over at Brad and smiled which made Brad smile back and then get back to his card game.
"I love you dad" Ronnie said and gave him a hug which of course Joe hugged his daughter back tightly.
"I love you too darling Ronnie. You know your mother would be so proud of you if she saw you now and all that you have accomplished".
"I hope so dad. I am sorry she could not handle our life but I am happy because you were the best parent ever. I know I am stronger and happier because of all you did for me as well as grandma and granddad" Ronnie said smiling.
"You better not forget this little guys dad too he is a wonderful person too" Joe said patting Ronnie's starting to show baby bump.
"Of course this little guys dad is wonderful and I really do not know how I would have survived without him too" Ronnie giggled.
Just at that moment Joe's cell phone went off and he looked down at it, "Sorry sweetie but I have to take this call. Is there anything else?" he asked.
"No take your call that was all. Thanks again dad" Ronnie said getting up and heading back to her seat next to Brad.
She sat down as Brad said, "Hey is everything ok?"
"Yeah" Ronnie said putting her hand on his thigh.
Brad smiled and kissed her cheek and then went back to his game and Ronnie got back into her book.
Finally they landed in Minnesota for the last regular season game. The Stars did not play their best and ended up losing to the Wild. They were out of the playoffs which sucked.
The locker room was quiet and everyone just listened as their coach told them they had done well yeah it was hard to lose but they would always have next season to try again for the Stanley Cup.
The plane ride back to Dallas was very quiet and most everyone was asleep including Ronnie. She was out cold just like Brad who was holding her.
When Ronnie and Brad got to the airport and said their goodnights to her dad and his teammates they got into the car and headed home. They drove in silence and Ronnie looked at Brad and could tell he was sad about not making the playoffs. She knew he had a tough season and his contract was up this summer, so he did not know where he would end up playing next season. That thought made Ronnie realize that she would be moving too because where ever Brad was she was right next to him through the good and bad. Another thought ran through Ronnie's brain she realized that she and Brad should get married over the summer.
"Hey Brad" Ronnie said to get Brad attention because he was trying to stay awake and drive them home safely.
"Yes" he said quietly.
"I have made a big decision" she said which made Brad look at her.
"What is that?" he asked.
"Let's get married here in Dallas before your contract is up. We can do it. I know my dad will help out and has lots of contacts so it will not be that stressful. Plus it will put that gorgeous smile on your face that I love so much" Ronnie said giving Brad her brightest smile.
"I love that idea Ronnie. Let's do it" Brad said.
"Yay" Ronnie cheered and Brad laughed.

Chapter 14
****Warning Bad Language and Violence****
Ronnie was out doing some errands with her dad around Dallas. She was enjoying the fact that she was getting out of the house. The doctor has said she could go out but she had to have someone with her luckily her dad was always willing if Brad or one of her other friends were not available.
Ronnie had finally finished everything and her dad, Joe had just dropped her off at the condo. He helped her take all of her stuff inside.
"Thanks dad for everything. You do not know how much this means to be to get these errands done so when Brad gets home things are pretty settled" Ronnie said going and hugging her dad.
"Anything for you darling and now you need some rest so just take it easy for the rest of the day" Joe said kissing the top of his daughter's head.
"I promise and I might even need a nap" Ronnie said.
"Ok well I will go and talk to you later" Joe said as he left Ronnie. Ronnie locked the door and headed back to the bedroom to sleep.
Several hours later Ronnie heard the doorbell so she got up and went to look out the peephole. She stepped back in shock and thought to herself why is he here in Dallas. He lives in New York and has not bothered her for several years but she opened the door and then all she saw was a huge fist smack her in the face.
Ronnie fell backwards and then tried to get up but Sean kept her down by putting his foot on her chest.
"You fucking little bitch! I see you are sleeping around with Brad Richards these days. You really are the little slut that I remember" Sean said.
"Get your foot off of me now" Ronnie shouted.
"Sorry slut, but you are in the perfect spot beneath me and screaming my name or harder and faster" Sean laughed and then slapped Ronnie's face.
She cried and yelled at him to go but he did not listen. He finally moved to lock the door and while he was doing that she got up and grabbed her cell phone and called 911 as she ran into her bedroom.
Sean turned around and ran after Ronnie, "Bitch where the fuck are you? Get the fuck back out here now before I really hurt you badly. If you are a good girl I will make it feel good and not bad. Open the fucking door you slut" Sean said banging on the door.
"What's your emergency?" the 911 operator said.
"My ex boyfriend is trying to rape me and has already hit me and pushed me around. He is not supposed to be around me because of a restraining order I have but he does not listen" Ronnie cried.
"What's your name and your address?" the operator asked and Ronnie answered all the questions as she listened to Sean bang on the door. Ronnie hid in the closet because she thought Sean might break down the bedroom door. Sure enough a few minutes later the police showed up and broke in the door and grabbed Sean.
Another policewoman walked into the bedroom, "Ronnie, its the police and we are here to help you".
Ronnie slowly opened the door to the closet and peeked around the door and saw the policewoman and then felt better.
"Where is my ex?" Ronnie asked giving herself a hug.
"He is with my partner in handcuffs and we found the restraining order so he is under arrest and will be made to go back to New York with a police escort this afternoon" the policewoman said.
Ronnie was relieved and really hoped that Brad would get home soon. She needed him badly, "Thank you".
"You are welcome and is there anyone who can stay with you until we let you know he is back in New York?"
"Yeah my dad can be here soon and my fiance should be back tonight" Ronnie said.
"Well call your dad and I will stay here till he shows up" the policewoman said.
"I will now" Ronnie called her dad and explained everything and he was on his way.
When her dad got there the policewoman and Ronnie explained everything and he thank the policewoman and the he and Ronnie hung out in Ronnie's condo.
Ronnie and her dad just hung out at the condo. They talked, played card games and watched tv. It was nice just the two of them hanging out.
"Ronnie have you called Brad and told him what happened?" Joe asked.
Ronnie shook her head, "No and I want to wait until I see him".
"Fine, you have been through a lot lately so do it how you want" Joe said.
"Thanks dad" Ronnie said.
Joe stayed until Brad showed up which was late and Brad was surprised to see Ronnie and Joe still up and chilling out in the living room.
"Hey what's going on?" Brad asked putting his bag down and taking off his shoes. He walked over to Ronnie and sat down next to her on the sofa. He gave her a quick kiss on the lips. Ronnie snuggled into his chest and Brad held her.
"I think I am gonna go now that you are back, Brad" Joe said getting up.
"Dad, you do not need to leave yet" Ronnie said.
"What's going on?" Brad asked looking freaked out.
"Brad, Sean showed up and tried to rape me and he did hit me but the police got here in the nick of time. He was taken back to New York and I am ok" Ronnie explained.
"What the fuck was he doing here anyway. You have a restraining order and he should not be anywhere near you ever again" Brad practically screamed.
"I am fine and so is the baby. He did not hurt the baby. I swear".
"I know and I am going to make sure you are safe no matter what" Brad said. Ronnie smiled and enjoyed being in Brad's arms.
Joe left and knew that everything would be fine with Ronnie and Brad. Brad was a very protective and loving man towards Ronnie.

Chapter 13
Several weeks later and Brad was back to playing again. He was enjoying playing again and being with his teammates and going on road trips. He missed Ronnie a lot when he was gone but they talked on the phone a lot.
Ronnie was having to rely on her dad to get her to appointments and other things when Brad was gone. She missed Brad a lot but was super happy he was playing again.
One weekend Ronnie was resting in the bedroom watching tv when she started feeling weird. She got up from the bed and then her world went black.
A few hours later Ronnie woke up in a hospital room with her dad talking to the doctor. She was wondering what happened.
"Hey what's going on?" Ronnie asked and then the doctor and her dad turned around to look at her.
"Sweetie, you are awake. How are you feeling?" Joe, Ronnie's dad, asked.
"I feel fine but the last thing I remember I was in my room and I got up to go to the bathroom and then I wake up and I am here. What's going on and what about my baby?" Ronnie asked freaking out.
"Ronnie, you fainted and your sugar level was low. Have you been eating like you should be doing?" the doctor asked.
"Well I guess I thought I was eating well but maybe since Brad has been gone a lot and so I am not as good as I should be and I know that is wrong" Ronnie said feeling guilty.
"Ronnie, I have decided to keep you here overnight to make sure everything is fine with you and your baby" the doctor said and Ronnie nodded and then the doctor left Ronnie and her dad alone.
"Dad, I feel so bad as a mom. I know better after all I have been through and oh gosh Brad is gonna hate me for not taking care of me and the baby" Ronnie sobbed and Joe hugged his daughter.
"Its going to be ok and I do not think that Brad will hate you. He loves you" Joe said trying to reassure his daughter that everything would be ok.
Ronnie had her dad call Brad and tell him she was in the hospital. Brad freaked out and was able to get back to Dallas quickly.
When Brad got to the hospital he found Ronnie's room and when he walked in she was sleeping. He went over to sit down on her bed and just watch her sleep. He had been freaking out on the inside because he had no idea why Ronnie was in the hospital. When he got a cab he told the driver go as fast as possible but no accidents along the way. The driver laughed and got Brad to the hospital as fast as he could from the airport.
After a little while Brad ended up getting more comfortable next to Ronnie and fell asleep.
The nurse walked in and saw Brad and Ronnie asleep and laughed but then she went over to Brad and woke up Brad.
"Excuse me" the nurse said as she gently nudged Brad. He stirred and then moved to look at who had woken him.
Brad smiled, "Sorry I got here kinda late and she was sleeping and I did not want to wake her but I had to make sure my fiancee was going to be fine".
"Its fine but I need to check her stats".
"That's fine I will be right back anyway" Brad said and then left the nurse to do her job.
After a little bit the nurse was done and Brad went back into Ronnie's room. Ronnie was awake and she saw Brad and smiled, "Hey".
"Hey beautiful, how are you feeling?"
"Good and the doctors said I will be fine" Ronnie said.
"Why are you in the hospital?" Brad asked worriedly.
Ronnie shook her head and tried to turn away from Brad but he would not let her.
"Ronnie tell me now" Brad said sternly.
"I feel ashamed for why" Ronnie explained but finely gave in, "I was not eating correctly and I fainted".
"Ronnie how could not take care of yourself and our baby?" Brad said looking very upset.
Ronnie got upset and the tears started forming and then Brad felt bad and pulled Ronnie close, "I am sorry Ronnie, baby and I love you and I do not want anything to happen to you or the baby".
"I love you too and you know I would never do anything to hurt our baby" Ronnie apologized.
"Its ok baby, I love you and it will be ok" Brad kissed Ronnie deeply.
The rest of the evening Brad and Ronnie talked about the baby, possible names and nursery ideas and several other baby related things.
The doctor released Ronnie the next day and Brad took her home and they hung out together for the rest of the day snuggled together.
Ronnie was having to rely on her dad to get her to appointments and other things when Brad was gone. She missed Brad a lot but was super happy he was playing again.
One weekend Ronnie was resting in the bedroom watching tv when she started feeling weird. She got up from the bed and then her world went black.
A few hours later Ronnie woke up in a hospital room with her dad talking to the doctor. She was wondering what happened.
"Hey what's going on?" Ronnie asked and then the doctor and her dad turned around to look at her.
"Sweetie, you are awake. How are you feeling?" Joe, Ronnie's dad, asked.
"I feel fine but the last thing I remember I was in my room and I got up to go to the bathroom and then I wake up and I am here. What's going on and what about my baby?" Ronnie asked freaking out.
"Ronnie, you fainted and your sugar level was low. Have you been eating like you should be doing?" the doctor asked.
"Well I guess I thought I was eating well but maybe since Brad has been gone a lot and so I am not as good as I should be and I know that is wrong" Ronnie said feeling guilty.
"Ronnie, I have decided to keep you here overnight to make sure everything is fine with you and your baby" the doctor said and Ronnie nodded and then the doctor left Ronnie and her dad alone.
"Dad, I feel so bad as a mom. I know better after all I have been through and oh gosh Brad is gonna hate me for not taking care of me and the baby" Ronnie sobbed and Joe hugged his daughter.
"Its going to be ok and I do not think that Brad will hate you. He loves you" Joe said trying to reassure his daughter that everything would be ok.
Ronnie had her dad call Brad and tell him she was in the hospital. Brad freaked out and was able to get back to Dallas quickly.
When Brad got to the hospital he found Ronnie's room and when he walked in she was sleeping. He went over to sit down on her bed and just watch her sleep. He had been freaking out on the inside because he had no idea why Ronnie was in the hospital. When he got a cab he told the driver go as fast as possible but no accidents along the way. The driver laughed and got Brad to the hospital as fast as he could from the airport.
After a little while Brad ended up getting more comfortable next to Ronnie and fell asleep.
The nurse walked in and saw Brad and Ronnie asleep and laughed but then she went over to Brad and woke up Brad.
"Excuse me" the nurse said as she gently nudged Brad. He stirred and then moved to look at who had woken him.
Brad smiled, "Sorry I got here kinda late and she was sleeping and I did not want to wake her but I had to make sure my fiancee was going to be fine".
"Its fine but I need to check her stats".
"That's fine I will be right back anyway" Brad said and then left the nurse to do her job.
After a little bit the nurse was done and Brad went back into Ronnie's room. Ronnie was awake and she saw Brad and smiled, "Hey".
"Hey beautiful, how are you feeling?"
"Good and the doctors said I will be fine" Ronnie said.
"Why are you in the hospital?" Brad asked worriedly.
Ronnie shook her head and tried to turn away from Brad but he would not let her.
"Ronnie tell me now" Brad said sternly.
"I feel ashamed for why" Ronnie explained but finely gave in, "I was not eating correctly and I fainted".
"Ronnie how could not take care of yourself and our baby?" Brad said looking very upset.

Chapter 12
Brad was slowly starting to feel better and the team doctors finally said he could just skate alone on the ice. He skated and things still seemed a little off but he was determined to get better before the end of the season.
Brad was working out in the team gym one day with several of his teammates. Brenden Morrow decided to jump around and pretend to dance to the random song that was playing on the sound system to get some laughs out of his teammates. Brad just shook his head and laughed. It felt good to laugh not that he had been sad lately it had just been stressful with his injury and Ronnie almost losing the baby.
"I am just so cool with my awesome dancing" Brenden said as he continued to act like a fool.
"Oh my word, Brenden you are crazy" Brad joked still laughing.
"I am and I don't care" Brenden laughed too and finally stopped and sat down to catch his breath.
"I can tell you do not care" Brad said shaking his head and then went to get on a stationary bike to work out his legs.
"Hey Brad, how are you? I know you and Ronnie have been kinda going through a lot of stuff" Brenden asked.
"We are doing ok. Ronnie is on bed rest and its driving her insane but she is a great sport" Brad said.
"Glad to hear she is going to be ok and now we just need you to get healthy because boy we miss you on the ice man" Brenden stated.
"I know and hopefully before too long" Brad said hopefully.
Meanwhile back at the condo, Ronnie was chilling in the living room reading a baby name book that Brad had given her. She had all sorts of baby books to read and was learning a lot of stuff and some things that she was not sure she wanted to know.
Ronnie was waiting for Brad to come home just because she was bored out of her mind and wanted his company. Her dad and come by earlier and brought lunch and they ate on the balcony of the condo. She enjoyed her time with her dad. They had fun talking about the team and the baby.
Just as Ronnie was about to call Brad she heard the door and wanted to bad to jump up and run into his arms she restrained herself.
"Hey hottie" Ronnie called from the bedroom where she was chilling.
"Hey sexy" Brad answered back and then came and sat down next to her and kissing her.
Ronnie enjoyed the kiss and then Brad pulled back, "What's been going on sweetie?"
"Dad came over for lunch and we ate on the balcony and it was nice. The weather is great today" Ronnie said.
"Sounds busy and I hope you relaxed" Brad said sternly and looking at Ronnie.
"Dude, of course I chilled" Ronnie said smiling.
"Good because I love both of you" Brad said and then put his hand on Ronnie's abdomen.
"We love you too Brad. Now I am bored so entertain me please" Ronnie asked with her adorable smile that Brad could not resist.
He leaned down and kissed her and then he talked to her about what he had done that day at the arena.
They hung out and finally Ronnie convinced Brad to take her out of the house for a short walk in their complex. It did Ronnie wonders just being outside and Brad kept asking her if she was ok and she kept reassuring she was fine.
They got home and Ronnie was tired so she decided to take a nap before dinner and Brad stayed in the living room and watched some tv.
After a while Brad ordered dinner and then got the table ready for a romantic dinner for two. When the food got there he set everything up and then went to check on Ronnie but she was not in bed. He heard her in the bathroom and knocked on the door.
"Hey gorgeous are you ok?" Brad asked.
Ronnie opened the door, "Hey I am fine just your child making me nauseous" Ronnie joked and put her hand on his chest.
"Ok just making sure because I have dinner ready".
"You are my hero because I am starving".
"Great shall we go?" Brad asked and Ronnie took his hand and they headed into the kitchen and Ronnie smiled when she saw how Brad and taken the time to set setting for a romantic evening they both enjoyed.

Chapter 11
Ronnie was chilling on the sofa in the condo watching tv. She was getting so bored being on bed rest because of her pregnancy but she knew it had to happen.
"Ugh this is insane but I know its for the best" Ronnie muttered to herself.
She was channel surfing because nothing was keeping her attention. She was seriously bored but she was not allowed to go anywhere unless Brad took her.
Ronnie finally decided to go and make some lunch. She figured that could not be too much for her. So she got up and headed into the kitchen. She found some easy stuff to make for lunch and ate. She then cleaned up and headed back into the bedroom to take a nap.
She was sleeping when Brad came home from working out. He was starting to feel somewhat better but was not allowed on the ice. So he was just working out in the gym with the trainers and the doctors were keeping a close tab on his progress.
Brad walked into the bedroom to see Ronnie sleeping. That made him feel better knowing she and the baby were fine. He took off his shoes and socks and got onto the bed and slid next to Ronnie. Brad ended up falling asleep too.
Ronnie turned in her sleep at one point and realized that Brad was holding her. She opened her eyes for just a moment and smiled seeing his sleeping face and then went back to sleep.
A few hours later Brad woke up and moved and that woke Ronnie up too.
"Hey" Brad said smiling at Ronnie.
"Hey you" Ronnie joked back.
"Sorry for waking you up".
"Its ok Brad, actually your child is playing soccer with my bladder for some reasons so I will be right back" Ronnie laughed and headed into the bathroom.
Brad waiting for Ronnie to come back out and when she did he patted the bed and she walked back over and sat down next to him.
Brad pulled her close and kissed her. They ended up in a serious make out session which was enjoyed by both until Ronnie's stomach started to growl.
Ronnie pulled back and giggled, "I think someone is hungry".
"I think someone trying to get your attention and not letting me enjoy some adult time with my gorgeous fiance" Brad countered back.
"Let's get some dinner because I am starving" Ronnie said.
"Fine but we are getting something delivered because you are staying put" Brad said sternly and Ronnie just shook her head.
Brad called their favorite Italian place and ordered for the both of them.
A little later on Brad and Ronnie were enjoying a romantic dinner in bed and then watching a movie snuggled together.

Chapter 10
Ronnie was brought home from the hospital and Brad made sure she was comfy in their bed. Ronnie was giggling because Brad was making sure she had everything close by like her cell phone, the television remote and her book.
"Brad really stop fussing over me. I am fine and you need to chill" Ronnie said smiling.
"Sorry I just want to make sure you and the baby are resting like the doctor said you needed so that the baby will be healthy" Brad said finally sitting down next to Ronnie. Ronnie snuggled up next to Brad and he held her close. They started to watch a movie and halfway through the movie Ronnie fell asleep and Brad gently moved Ronnie so that she would be more comfortable. Brad got up and headed into the living room and pulled out his cell phone. Brad called his mom.
Brad's mom finally answered, "Hello darling. How are you?".
"Mom, I am ok. Its been kinda crazy with my concussion and Ronnie's baby scare" Brad explained with a sigh.
"I know darling you and Ronnie are strong and will get through this tough time because you love each other" Brad's mom said.
"I hope you are right mom because sometimes life throws you things that you wonder if you can get through it. I am scared and feel like I am not strong enough for Ronnie now since I am hurt too. Its not fair".
"Bradley Glenn Richards, listen to me, I am your mother and I know you well and you are strong enough for both you and Ronnie and you two will make it. I know you honey and I know this is a tough time but just take everything slow and everything will work out".
"Ok mom and thanks for just talking to me. I love you" Brad said smiling to himself.
"I love you too Brad" said Delite Richards.
"I will talk to you later on" Brad said and then they both hung up.
Brad sat on the couch for a few minutes thinking about what his mom said and knew she was right. He and Ronnie would make everything work out. They loved each other and were going to be parents before too long. Plus they had to start thinking about a wedding. Brad smiled at the thought of Ronnie walking down the aisle to him in her wedding dress. She is going to make a beautiful bride of course she was already beautiful especially now with the baby growing inside of her. He got up and headed back to the bedroom to see Ronnie was still sleeping. He turned off the rest of the lights and then snuggled next to Ronnie on the bed and went to sleep too.
The next morning Ronnie woke up first and saw Brad sprawled out on his side of the bed. He was out cold and she just laughed quietly to herself. She had felt him come to bed last night and it was nice having him hold her but of course he now ended up all over the place on his side. She got up and headed into the bathroom. When she came back out she heard her stomach growl so she walked into the kitchen to find something easy to make for breakfast. She got some cereal and milk and juice and sat down at the kitchen table and ate. Before she realized it she had eaten three bowls of cereal and said to herself, "Damn, kiddo you were starving huh?" Ronnie laughed and was about to get up when she saw Brad walk in and looking very disheveled. His short hair was sticking up and of course he was shirtless so that made Ronnie smile to herself. His pajama pants looked very wrinkled but he looked amazing to Ronnie.
"Don't you dare move another muscle, baby. You should have woken me up if you were hungry because you are not suppose to do anything except take care of yourself and our baby" Brad said shaking his finger at her like she was a child in trouble.
"Dude you were out cold and you need rest too so you can be healthy and play hockey again soon. So don't scold me like a bad child. I did nothing to hurt me or our baby. Got it" Ronnie said sternly.
"Sorry baby, I just want to make sure nothing else happens to you or the baby".
"I know you got scared and I did too and I will never do anything to lose our baby because he or she is very important to me and you. Plus I could never handle losing another baby in my life like I did before so you know I am being extremely careful".
"I know you are sweetheart. I love you so much Ronnie" Brad said pulling Ronnie close and kissing her. Ronnie enjoyed the kiss and the closeness of being in Brad's arms. Life was good and things would work out for the two of them.

Chapter 9
****Warning Adult Content****
The paramedics raced to the hospital as fast as they could go and Ronnie had past out on them as they rushed her into the emergency room. The paramedics talked to the doctors explaining what had happened to Ronnie and her unborn baby.
The doctor yelled out orders and nurses and other doctor's were checking on Ronnie and hooking her up to machines and doing everything to see what was going on with Ronnie's baby.
Brad showed up a few minutes later and ran in and walked up to the nurses station
"My fiancee was just brought in here and I wanted to know what's going on with her?"
"What is her name sir" the nurse asked.
"Veronica Nieuwendyk"
"I will have to check and get back to you. You can have a seat and I will come and find you when I know something sir".
"Thank you" Brad said and went to sit down in the waiting area. He put a hand through his hair and then sat back and closed his eyes and prayed for Ronnie and their unborn baby.
Back in the emergency room the doctors worked hard to make sure Ronnie's baby would survive this traumatic situation.
Ronnie was dreaming about the time when she was sure she and Brad conceive their baby.
******Flashback******
Ronnie was enjoying herself at a Dallas Stars party. Her dad Joe was throwing the party and all the guys were there with their families. Ronnie and Brad had been dating for a while and they were very happy.
Brad was talking with some of his teammates and then looked over to find Ronnie talking with some of the other wives. He excused himself from his friends and walked over to Ronnie.
He surprised her by coming up behind her and hugging her, "Hey beautiful" he whispered into her ear and then gave her a quick kiss on her neck.
Ronnie jumped and then turned around to see Brad holding her, "Hey handsome, you surprised me".
"Sorry baby" Brad said and giving her a quick kiss on the lips and then grabbing her hand and pulling her away. They walked over to the side yard where no one was around. Then Brad pulled Ronnie to him and kissed her deeply and then he pressed his forehead to hers, "So are you having fun?" asked Brad.
"Of course I am. This is fun and now I feel even more connected to the team because I am with you" Ronnie said smiling at Brad.
"I am happy that you are happy" Brad exclaimed and hugged Ronnie close.
Ronnie bit her lip and looked over at the party and then back at Brad, "Hey come with me inside and I wanna show you something" Ronnie smirked and Brad looked confused but followed Ronnie inside the Nieuwendyk home. She held his hand and they ran upstairs until they stopped at a door. Ronnie turned to look at Brad and then turned the knob of the door.
Brad remember being in this room many times just hanging out with Ronnie when they were youngsters and then he also remember a special time when Ronnie had given him something more precious. He was thinking about that night when they had been young and Ronnie turned to look at him and had tried to get his attention.
"Brad, hey Brad, whatcha thinking?" Ronnie said and then Brad turned to her, "Sorry baby I was just thinking about ya know that night".
"Oh gosh Brad" Ronnie said turning red with embarrassment but then smirked and then sat on the bed.
"Show me again" Ronnie said suggestively as she kicked off her shoes and took off her shirt, showing Brad he very sexy pink bra.
Brad quickly took of his shoes, socks and shirt and ran over to the bed and pounced on Ronnie. She giggled as he kissed her senseless and on her sensitive spot on her neck. Hands were roaming each others bodies and the rest of their clothes were discarded quickly.
Brad and Ronnie kissed and touched each other and then Brad made love to Ronnie gently.

The doctors finally figured out what had happened and were able to save Ronnie and Brad's baby. Ronnie was finally put in a room where she was going to stay overnight for observation.
The nurse finally found Brad, who had fallen asleep, so she gently shook his shoulder to wake him up.
Brad woke up and looked at the nurse and asked, "What's going on with my fiancee?"
"She is in room 2191 up on the maternity ward if you want to see her" the nurse said and Brad thanked her and walked to the elevators to see Ronnie.
Ronnie was watching the baby monitor and she put her hand on her abdomen and was talking to her baby when Brad walked into her room.
"Ronnie, sweetie what's going on with our baby?" he asked as he sat down next to Ronnie on her hospital bed.
"The baby is going to be ok but I have to be here overnight for observation" Ronnie said taking Brad's hand and putting it on her abdomen and Brad smiled at Ronnie and then kissed her.
Brad pulled back and then looked at Ronnie, "Why did this happened? I mean why when you were so careful did you start bleeding and you had those awful pains in your abdomen. I just do not understand".
"The doctors think I was stressed out and working too much or exercising too much too so I am told that I almost miscarried but the baby is fine. I am going to be put on bed rest until the baby is born" Ronnie explained.
"I promise you I will make sure you do not lift a finger for anything but I am going to have to kiss you senseless whenever I want too" Brad said kissing Ronnie again.
"I love you too and you better kiss me senseless whenever you wish" Ronnie joked and leaned in for another kiss from Brad.
The paramedics raced to the hospital as fast as they could go and Ronnie had past out on them as they rushed her into the emergency room. The paramedics talked to the doctors explaining what had happened to Ronnie and her unborn baby.
The doctor yelled out orders and nurses and other doctor's were checking on Ronnie and hooking her up to machines and doing everything to see what was going on with Ronnie's baby.
Brad showed up a few minutes later and ran in and walked up to the nurses station
"My fiancee was just brought in here and I wanted to know what's going on with her?"
"What is her name sir" the nurse asked.
"Veronica Nieuwendyk"
"I will have to check and get back to you. You can have a seat and I will come and find you when I know something sir".
"Thank you" Brad said and went to sit down in the waiting area. He put a hand through his hair and then sat back and closed his eyes and prayed for Ronnie and their unborn baby.
Back in the emergency room the doctors worked hard to make sure Ronnie's baby would survive this traumatic situation.
Ronnie was dreaming about the time when she was sure she and Brad conceive their baby.
******Flashback******
Ronnie was enjoying herself at a Dallas Stars party. Her dad Joe was throwing the party and all the guys were there with their families. Ronnie and Brad had been dating for a while and they were very happy.
Brad was talking with some of his teammates and then looked over to find Ronnie talking with some of the other wives. He excused himself from his friends and walked over to Ronnie.
He surprised her by coming up behind her and hugging her, "Hey beautiful" he whispered into her ear and then gave her a quick kiss on her neck.
Ronnie jumped and then turned around to see Brad holding her, "Hey handsome, you surprised me".
"Sorry baby" Brad said and giving her a quick kiss on the lips and then grabbing her hand and pulling her away. They walked over to the side yard where no one was around. Then Brad pulled Ronnie to him and kissed her deeply and then he pressed his forehead to hers, "So are you having fun?" asked Brad.
"Of course I am. This is fun and now I feel even more connected to the team because I am with you" Ronnie said smiling at Brad.
"I am happy that you are happy" Brad exclaimed and hugged Ronnie close.
Ronnie bit her lip and looked over at the party and then back at Brad, "Hey come with me inside and I wanna show you something" Ronnie smirked and Brad looked confused but followed Ronnie inside the Nieuwendyk home. She held his hand and they ran upstairs until they stopped at a door. Ronnie turned to look at Brad and then turned the knob of the door.
Brad remember being in this room many times just hanging out with Ronnie when they were youngsters and then he also remember a special time when Ronnie had given him something more precious. He was thinking about that night when they had been young and Ronnie turned to look at him and had tried to get his attention.
"Brad, hey Brad, whatcha thinking?" Ronnie said and then Brad turned to her, "Sorry baby I was just thinking about ya know that night".
"Oh gosh Brad" Ronnie said turning red with embarrassment but then smirked and then sat on the bed.
"Show me again" Ronnie said suggestively as she kicked off her shoes and took off her shirt, showing Brad he very sexy pink bra.
Brad quickly took of his shoes, socks and shirt and ran over to the bed and pounced on Ronnie. She giggled as he kissed her senseless and on her sensitive spot on her neck. Hands were roaming each others bodies and the rest of their clothes were discarded quickly.

Chapter 8
Ronnie was taking it easy for a little while because of what happened to Brad. Brad was not playing right now so that he could heal from his concussion. Ronnie was taking time off from work so she could be there for Brad and her dad was totally understanding because he also knew she needed some time because of the baby too.
Brad and Ronnie chilled out on the couch watching a movie one evening instead of watching the game because it annoyed Brad he could not be there for his team. Ronnie moved slightly to get more comfortable against Brad's chest.
"Ronnie you ok" Brad asked letting his hand gently caress Ronnie's side where her t-shirt had scrunched up to expose her soft skin. He could not help but touch her.
"Hmmmmmmm" Ronnie sighed and snuggling closer to Brad.
Brad just kissed the top of Ronnie's head and he heard her make a contented sound so that answered his question that she was fine.
Ronnie was enjoying the feeling of Brad's hand on her skin felt so reassuring and loving that if she were a cat she would seriously be purring.
The movie was finally over and Brad looked down at Ronnie and realized she had fallen asleep and she was laying partially on him. He was comfortable too so he closed his eyes and went to sleep.
The next morning Ronnie woke up to feeling nauseated so she got up to deal with morning sickness. After she threw up she started feeling weird and a pain in her abdomen and then she noticed blood coming down her leg.
"Oh my god, no! Brad...Brad....Help me" Ronnie cried and held her abdomen and sat on the floor of the bathroom.
Brad jumped when he heard Ronnie calling his name and she sounded scared and that was not a good sign. He ran into the bathroom and saw Ronnie holding her stomach and crying.
"Baby what's wrong?" Brad said quickly going to her side and pulling her close.
"The baby....Oh god....my baby..." Ronnie stuttered and sobbed into Brad's chest as he held her close.
Brad kissed her on the top of her head, "I need to get my phone and call for an ambulance now. Stay still, I will be right back" Brad said getting up quickly and running to get his phone and calling 911.
Brad held Ronnie until the paramedics showed up and took Ronnie to the hospital to try and help save her baby.
Brad followed in his car to the hospital and prayed for Ronnie and their unborn child. Both of them could not deal with the lose of a baby. Their child had to survive because this baby had been a miracle they had conceived from their love.

Chapter 7
Brad was playing and of course Ronnie was at all the home games cheering on her guy. She enjoyed watching game in her dad's box with her dad.
The game tonight was very fast paced and Ronnie was keeping her eyes on Brad and making sure he was not hurt because the other team seem to be really into doing a lot of hitting. At one point Brad was just standing on the ice waiting to see what his teammates were doing with the puck when out of no where someone from the other team hit him. Brad felt a little off and headed back to the bench and talked to the trainer and they headed back to the dressing room.
"I just feel off" Brad told the trainer and then he went to find the team doctor.
They checked out Brad and realized that Brad had a possible concussion and so he would need more tests. Brad agreed with the team doctor and the next day Brad would be checked more thoroughly.
When Ronnie saw Brad being hit and then he was gone from the bench, it freaked her out. She quickly left out of the box and headed down to the locker room. When she got down there the trainer saw her.
"Hey the team doctor is checking out Brad so if you give them a moment I am sure the doctor will let you see him soon" the trainer said to Ronnie.
"OK thank you" Ronnie said finding a seat on one of the couches in the lobby area of the dressing rooms.
A few minutes later the trainer came out and motioned for Ronnie to go back and see Brad.
Ronnie found Brad sitting on a table in the back and he saw Ronnie and smiled.
"What happened?" Ronnie asked walking to Brad. Brad took Ronnie's hands and pulled her close.
"I might have a concussion but I will find out more tomorrow when I get more tests to see what's going on. I am sure I will be fine but right now I can not play for a little while" Brad said to hopefully to soothe Ronnie's concerns.
"I hope you will be ok but I am so scared for you" Ronnie said biting her lip which made Brad realize she was stressing and that was not an option for her because of the baby.
"Ronnie, I do not what you to stress out because this miracle growing inside of you must be healthy too. Do you hear me baby?" Brad said sternly looking down at Ronnie. He took two fingers and tilted her chin up so that she had to look in his eyes. Brad saw tears in her eyes and she looked really scared. He leaned down and kissed her gently and then pulled back, "I know you are scared Ronnie but everything will be fine. I promise".
Ronnie nodded but then started crying and Brad hugged her tightly to his chest.
"Brad..." Ronnie started, "I am scared and its because the last time I was pregnant with Sean's baby, he got hurt and then he made me feel it was my fault for his situation. And when we got home he slapped me around and then pushed me and I fell and hit my abdomen and lost that baby. I...I wanted my baby even though it was Sean's but it broke my heart to lose it so I just do not want anything to happen to this baby. I know you will not hurt me but I still am very scared" Ronnie finally explained.
Brad knew that Ronnie's past relationship had been hard on her because of all the physical abuse and the sexual assaults that Sean and put her through. She was a lot stronger now that she had left the situation and had a new life in Dallas with him. Brad held Ronnie close and swore to himself that he would make sure that Ronnie and their baby were safe and loved always.
"Ronnie, remember this always, I love you with all my heart and soul. You and this baby are always going to be safe and protected by me. Do you understand this?" Brad said as he held Ronnie close.
"I do know that you will take care of me and our baby because you love us just as I love you too" Ronnie said snuggling into Brad's chest.

Chapter 6

One evening Ronnie was having one of her pregnancy cravings. She asked Brad to go to the grocery store and buy the makings for ice cream sundaes. She had told him get lots of chocolate sauce and whipped cream. So while Brad was at the store Ronnie was chilling on the couch watching the Avalanche versus Coyotes game.
Brad finally got home with all the sundae makings and Ronnie got up from the couch and helped Brad take the stuff out of the bags and literally started making a sundae for herself instantly.
"Someone is hungry" Brad joked as he watched Ronnie making her sundae.
She glared at him and then picked up the chocolate sauce bottle and aimed it at Brad and squirted chocolate sauce on his shirt. Brad looked at Ronnie and then took off his shirt and then grabbed the whipped cream can and started spraying Ronnie with whipped cream. Ronnie and Brad continued with their sundae battle and before they knew it they were both covered in chocolate and whipped cream. It was all over the kitchen and both of their food weapons were empty.
Ronnie finally sat down on the kitchen floor in all the mess and Brad joined her.
"I can not believe we just did that" Ronnie exclaimed looking at the mess.
Brad laughed, "Yeah but it was fun".
"Yeah but I really wanted a sundae" Ronnie sighed but then she looked at Brad and realized he was shirtless and moved to sit on Brad's lap. Brad looked at Ronnie as she climbed onto his lap and then moved her finger over his chest and the licked the chocolate off of him. "I agree" Ronnie said and got up and then Brad got off the floor and they headed into the master bathroom and striped off their chocolate covered clothes and Brad turned on the shower. They both walked into the shower and Ronnie stepped quickly into the warm water spraying down. Brad moved closer to Ronnie to get under the water too. Brad the perfect gentleman helped Ronnie get clean and Ronnie helped Brad too.
After they were clean Brad leaned down and kissed Ronnie as the water continued to spray. It felt so amazing and Ronnie slid her hands up Brad's chest and then put them around his neck. He pulled her closer and then lifted her legs around his waist and could not help himself and slid into her. Chapter 5

The days were crazy because the second half of the season was now happening and the Stars were trying to stay in a playoff position. Brad was working hard like he did every season so that he could play his best. Ronnie was busy too luckily though being in the office she could take it easy for her baby's sake.
That evening the Stars were playing at home and so Brad met up with Ronnie for lunch and then they headed home to nap together. Brad slept well holding Ronnie close for his pregame nap. The alarm went off and Brad reached over and smack the clock.
"Ugh do we have to get up?" Ronnie said drowsily and trying to snuggle back against Brad.

"Fine I am getting up but not happy about it" Ronnie said and slowly stretched and got up to get ready to head to the arena.
The game was intense and Ronnie was enjoying watching the game from the box with her father. Joe and Ronnie were really enjoying the game and just talking when all of a sudden Brad was knocked into the boards and was laying still on the ice.
Ronnie gasped and stood up to see what had happened to her man.
Joe stood up next to his daughter and put an arm around her shoulders and pulled her close. They watched as Brad's teammates walked over to him and the trainer started talking to him.
What seem to Ronnie a million years, Brad finally got up and skated over to the bench and then went back into the locker room with the trainer. Ronnie moved away from her dad and headed down to the locker room to find out what had happened to Brad. She was freaking out and knew she should not because of her baby but Brad was so important to her and she loved him more than anything.
When she got to the locker room the guard checked her pass and let her in and then she ran over to the training room and knocked on the door.
The door opened and the trainer let her in and she walked over to Brad who was sitting on the bench.
"Oh my god, Brad are you ok?" Ronnie asked looking extremely worried and scared.
Brad looked up at Ronnie pulled her into his arms and smiled, "I got the wind knocked out of me and I will be fine".
"Are you sure? I was so scared when I saw you on the ice and you were not moving" Ronnie started sobbing in Brad's chest.
Brad held her tightly and kissed her temple, "I will be fine and I would tell you if I wasn't, I swear. I promised you I would never lie to you. I love you baby".
Ronnie tilted her head up to look at Brad but did not move out of Brad's embrace, "I love you too and if you ever lie to me you are gonna wish you were hurt worse".
"Believe me I know Ronnie, I know" Brad said holding her tightly and kissing her deeply on the lips.
Finally the trainer came back into the room and Ronnie moved away from Brad and said, "Brad you ready to head back to the bench?"
"Yeah I am" he said getting off the bench and grabbed his helmet, gloves and stick.
All three of them headed out and then Brad stopped Ronnie for just a second and gave her another quick kiss before they headed their different directions.
Ronnie got back up to the box and saw that Brad was back on the ice and the fans were going crazy with cheers that he was back and slamming the guys from the other team into the boards.
The Stars beat the Coyotes 3 to 2. The last few minutes had been rough and the Stars fans were cheering their team on to win.
When Ronnie found Brad after he had showered and was looking snazzy in his suit.
"Damn boy you look gorgeous" Ronnie exclaimed as she looked her man up and down.
Brad twirled around for Ronnie and said, "Like what you see baby?"

Chapter 4
After practice the next day all of the guys were hanging out and just talking about their families. Brad was just listening to the guys and laughing at some of the jokes when his teammate, Brenden Morrow called his name, "Brad, hey what's going on with you and Ronnie? Are you gonna ask Ronnie to marry you? After all you two are having a baby".
Brad looked up at his teammate and said, "I do not know".
"Oh come on Brad we know you will do the right thing since you knocked Ronnie up" another teammate, Mike Ribeiro joked but then Adam Burish a forward for the Stars smacked Mike Ribeiro on the shoulder and said, "That's rude man. Not cool".
"Sorry Brad but I do not know why Ribeiro would say something that stupid. Oh wait he's had too many hits to his head. You do what you want because its your life, Brad".
"Thanks Adam. I might ask her but I have not had the best role models for a good marriage because my parents ended up getting divorced. But I love Ronnie more than anything in this world. She stole my heart the first time I saw her and of course now we are having a baby so we shall see".
"Glad to hear that" Brenden said patting his friend on the back.
Meanwhile Ronnie was at the Dallas Stars offices working in her office when she heard a knock at her open door and she looked up and saw her father standing there.
"Hey sweetie, how are you doing today?" asked Joe Nieuwendyk, the general manager of the Dallas Stars team.
Ronnie got up from her desk and walked over to her dad, "I am fine and just taking it easy because this little guy woke me up really early this morning". Ronnie patted her not quite yet showing baby belly.
"I still can't believe that my little girl is having a baby but its wonderful and I am so happy for you" Joe said kissing his daughter on the forehead.
"I am happy too and this time I know my baby is going to make it" Ronnie said lifting her chin up and looking at her father.
"Ronnie do not bring up that bastard. I hate him and what he did to you. You did not deserve that and do not think you did. You were so innocent and he was so charming at first and then he hurt you. Brad is a better man and I know he loves you very much and will take good care of you and your baby".
"Dad, I do not know what I would do without you and all your support. I think I might have been still with Sean and maybe hurt worse than I can think. And I know now that I deserve to be treated with respect and love. I know that Brad loves and respects me with all his heart" Ronnie said hugging her father.
That evening when Ronnie got home she was exhausted and went into the bedroom to sleep. She did not even hear Brad come home and lay down next to her. Brad lay there watching Ronnie sleep and smiled to himself. He thought that at some point he would have to propose to Ronnie and he knew she would say yes. It was not the right time but it would happen because he and Ronnie were nothing like his parents.
Brad leaned over to kiss Ronnie gently on the lips. Ronnie's eyes fluttered open to see Brad smiling at her.
"Hey beautiful" Brad said.
"Hey hot stuff" Ronnie joked back.
"Did you have a good nap?" Brad asked pulling Ronnie closer to him.
"I did and I had an amazing dream about you, me and the baby and we lived on a tropical island. And we had no worries and made love all day long" Ronnie giggled as she snuggled closer to Brad.
"Hey I like that dream of yours" Brad smirked and then kissed Ronnie again.
Then out of no where Ronnie's stomach started growling, "I guess someone is hungry" Brad said.
"Actually I think its the baby that is hungry" Ronnie joked.

Chapter 3

The following evening Ronnie was sitting in bed working on her laptop surfing the internet information about miscarriages and woman's health. She was still worried that something might happen to this precious miracle growing inside of her that she and Brad had created. Ronnie bit her lip and looked Brad in the eye and nodded. Brad pulled her close and whispered, "I am not him. I swear and I will do everything in my power to protect you and our baby".
Ronnie smiled and then kissed Brad who leaned Ronnie down on the bed. Then Brad pulled back and helped Ronnie out of her clothes and then shed his own.
Brad pulled Ronnie so that her back was to his chest and he nibbled on her ear lobe and she giggled because that felt amazing. She accidentally kicked the laptop and it fell on the floor with a loud 'bang' and they both laughed hard.
